An Ordinance establishing - cerrtain maximum renes and charges to
be made for electric current and -gas -in the City of
Salina, Kansas, and amending-Sectione One_(!), Two (2)-,
Four (4), Five (5) and Six'(6) of Ordinance Number 2361
entitled, "An Ordinance establishing certain maximum
rates and charges to be Tnade for electric current and
gas in the City of Salina, Kansas and letting the con-
;tract therefor" and repealing said orginal sections.
BE IT ORDAINED By the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section One (1) of Ordinance Number
2361 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. That the Salina Light, Power & Gas Company,
hereinafter called the Company, may charge for electric current
furnished for residence lighting in the City of Salina a maximum
rate_ of not to exceed Nine Cents (9�) per kilowatt hour for the
first Fifty (50) kilowatt hours used per month; and five cents
W) per kilowatt hour for all kilowatt hours in excess of fifty
(50)*thereof used per month, as measured by meters of standard
make to.be installed by and to remain the property of said Com-
pany --provided, however, that any customer of said Company who
fails to make payment of his account on or before the 10th day,
after due date.thereof will be subject to and shall pay an ad-
ditional charge of ten per cent (10%) of the gross amount of said
bill for this service; and provided further that no monthly bill
for residence lighting shall be less than one dollar ($1.00).
Section 2. That +the Company may charge for electric current
furnished for commercial lighting in the City of Salina a service
or demand charge of not to exceed the sum of One Dollar (41.00)
per month for the first five amperes 110 volt of meter capacity
together with a further service charge of not to exceed Fifty
cents (50�) per month for each additional five amperes 110 volt
capacity togetl-ier with a consumption charge of not to exceed
five and one-half cents (51p-.-¢) per kilowatt hour used per month as
measured by meters of standard make to be installed by and to re-
main the property of said Company; provided, further, however that
should the service and consumption charge not be paid by any
customer on or before the 10th day after due date thereof that
the Company shall have the righttocharge in addition thereto
ten per cent (10%) of the gross amount of said customerts account
for this service.
Section 3. That said Company may charge for electric cur-
rent furnished for secondary power in the City of Salina -a demand
or service charge of not to exceed one dollar ($1.00) per month
per horse power connected together.with a consumption -charge of

to exceed the maftimum rate offour cents (4�) per kilowatt
hour for the first five hundred (500) kilowatt hours used per

month and not to exceed three cents W) per kilowatt hour for
all over five hundred (500) kilowatt-hours used.per month, as
measured by meters of standard make to be installed by and to
remain the property of said Company; Provided, further, however,
that should the charge for such service and current not be paid
by any customer on or before the 10th day -of the month following
that in which said service is rendered and current used then that
the Company shall have the right to charge in addition thereto.

Section 4. That Section Two (2) of Ordinance Number 2361

'Section 4. That the Salina Light, Power & Gas Company
may charge a maximum rate for artificial gas furnished for domes-
tic purposes in the City of Salina of not to exceed Two Dollars
02.00) per one thousand cubic feet used per month as measured
by meters of standard make to be installed by and to remain the
property of said Company; Provided, -however, that should the ac-
count of, any customer for gas used be paid on or•before the 10th
day after due date thereof thereof following that.in which the selu
vice is rendered then said customer shall .be entitled to a five
per cent (5%) discount thereon; and provided further that no month
ly bill for gas shall be less than Fifty Cents (50�)_subject to a
five per cent (50) discount as hereinbefore set forth.,
Section 5. That said maximum charges so fixed as aforesaid
and said service and demand charges as hereinbefore provided for
shall be in force and effect only until such time as the Mayor and
Uommissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall modify, change

r alter the same as provided for in Section Ten (10) of Ordinance
Number 1566, and the right is hereby expressly reserved to the
Mayor and Commissioners to so modify, change or alter such maxi-
mum charges so fixed as aforesaid being hereby expressly reserved
to such Mayor and Commissioners and that nothing herein contained
shall be -held or construed to limit the rights. -and privileges re-
served to said Mayor and Commissioners by Section Ten (10) of Ordir
nance Number 1566, Section Three'(3) of Ordinance Number 2201 and
Section Two (2) of Ordinance Number 2295.
Section 6. This ordinance shall after its publication
once in the official City paper apply to and effect all bills
for service due and payable on and after March 15th, 1922.
