2726 Improve Tenth StreetAn Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving Material to be used
and letting a contract for the paving, excavating, curbing and
guttering of TENTH STREET in the City of Salina,.."r�ansas from the
south line of Crawford: Avenue to the north line., of..Frost Street in
said. City.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Boars? of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That it is hereby determined that TENTH STREET in the
City of 'Salina, Kansas from the south line of. Cra.wforct Zvenue to the
north line of Frost Street in said City shall be paved with one course
vitrified fiber vertical plain wire cut brick, not.le,ss than three (3)
inches ,deep,, with asphalt filler laid,on a foundation five inchesin
depth of Portland Cement Concrete base with one (1) inch sand cushion,
such pavement within the limits above defined to.be.twenty-six (26)
feet in width excluding curb and gutter.
Section 2. That it is hereby determined that Tenth Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of.Crawford Avenue to the
north line of Frost Street in said City shall be curbed and gutteredi
with one piece combination cement curb and gutter, said combined curb)
and gutter shall be comprised of a curb six (6) inches thick at the top,
six and one-half inches (62) thick at the throat, with gutter twenp�y-
four (24) inches wide, six (6) inches thick at the throat and seven (7)
inches thick next to the pavement.
Section 3. till excavating, filling and rolling necessary for the
proper construction of such•iniprovements shall be done and all of such
improvements shall be made and done in strict conformity to and in com-
pliance with the plans and specifications heretofore made by the City
Engineer of Salina, Kansas and now on file with the City Clerk of said
City, which said plans and specifications are hereby incorporated in andl
made a part hereof in all respects as fully and completely as though
written out at length herein; which plans and specifications are hereby
adopted as and for the plans and specifications of such work and im-
provements.
Section 4. That a contract is hereby awarded to M. R. Amerman for
the paving, curbing, guttering, excavating and filling the above mtn-
tioned street in the limits aforesaid with the materials hereinbefore
specified; for the paving actually laid and put in place, for labor
actually performed and materials actually furnished at the following
prices: For excavating and grading seventy cents (70�) per cubic yard;
For portland,cement concrete combined curb and gutter eighty cents (80¢)
per linear foot and for paving actually laid and put in place Three and
18/100 Dollars ($3.18) per square yard. All of said work shall be paid

for according.to the measurement made.by the City Engineer of the
City of Salina. It is hereby determined and found that the prices
to be paid eof the improvements as-aforesaid..is less than the esti-
mated price of each and all of said improvements as now on file
with the City Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 5. ,Such contract is awarded upon -the express condition
that such work and improvements shall be done in strict accordance
with and in compliance with the plans and specifications of the City
Engineer therefor, which plans and specifications are hereby made a
part of this ordinance and of the contract awarded.and upon further
conditions among others that said person to.whom..said contract is
awarded shall furnish to the City.-o.f.Salina.a surety company bond
in the approximate sum of the cost of such improvements, guaranteeing
the prompt, proper and workmanlike eonstruction.of all tyle same,
together with a surety company bond guaranteeing such pavement a-
gainst. all defects in material and workmanship for a period of five
(5) years from the date of its completion and acceptance by said
City; and said contract is awarded upon a further condition that
said M. R. Amerman shall furnish the City of Salina a good and,
sufficient surety company bond guaranteeing said eurb.and gutter
aginst all defects in material and workmanship for a period of two
(2) years from the date of its completion and acceptance of such Vw3i
by the vity; together with a good -.and suM tient surety company bond
running to the --tate of _ansas in an amount approximately equal to
the contract price of said improvements and donditioned that said
M. R. Amerman shall pay all indebtedness for labor and material fur-
nished in making the improvements provided for herein. '
Section 6. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Galina
are hereby authorized to make and enter into on behalf of said City
all written agreements necessary in order to secure the'c.onstruction
of the improvements herein provided for.
Section 79 This. ordinance shall take effect and be in full fb
force from and after its publication once in the official City paper.

An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to
be used and letting a contract for the paving, excavating,
curbing and guttering of Tenth Street in the City of
