An Ordinance specifying. and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving GYPSUM AVENUE in the City
of Salina, Y.ansas from the east.line of.Front Street to
the east line of Columbia Avenue in said City.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That it is hereby determined.that GYPSUM AVENUE
in the City of Salina, Kansas_from the east.line of Front Street
to the east line of Columbia Avenue in said City shall be paved
with one course vitrified. vertical fiber plain,wire cut brick, not
less than three (3) inches deep,.with asphalt filler laid on a
foundation of five (5) inches in depth of'Portland..Cement Concrete
base with one (1) inch sand.cushion, such pavement within the
limits above defined to be thirty-three (.33)..feet in width exclud-
ing curb and gutter.
Section 2. That it is hereby determined that GYPSLW AVENUE
in the City of Salina, Kansas from the e.ast..line.of Front Street
to the east.line of Columbia Avenue in said City shall be curbed
and guttered with one piece combination cement curb and gutter,
said combined curb and gtitter shall be.comprised of a curb six
(6).inches thick at the top and six and one-half (6*) inches thick
at the throat with gutter twenty-four (24) inches wide, six (6)
inches thick at the throat and seven (7) inches thick next to the
pavement.
Section 3. All excavating, filling and .rolling necessary
for the proper construction of -such improvements shall be done
and all'of such improvements shall be made and done in -strict con-
formity to and in compliance with the plans and specifications
heretofore made by the City Engineer of Salina, Kansas and onw on
file with the City Clerk of said City, which said plans and speci-
fications are hereby incorporated in.and rude a part hereof in all
respects as fully and completely as though written out at length
herein; which said plans and specifications are hereby adopted as
and for the plans and specifications of such work and improvements.
Section '4. That a contract is hereby awarded to M. R.
Amerman.for the paving, curbing, guttering, excavating and filling;
the above mentioned streets in the limits aforesaid with the ma-
terials here-inbefore specified, for the paving actually laid and
put in place, for the labor actually performed and the materials
actually furnished aththe following prices: For excavating and

grading seventy cents (70�) per cubic'yard; for Portland Cement
Concrete eighty eents (80�) per .lineal foot and for pavin actually
laid'and put in place Three and 18/100 Dollars.($3.18) per square.
yard.. All of said work shall be paid"for according to the measurement
made by the City Engineer of the City,of Salina.: it is hereby
dtermined and found that the prices to be paid for the improvements
as aforesaid is less than the estimated prices of each.and all of
said improvements as now on file with,, the City Clerk of the City of
Salina,, llansas.
Section,5. ' Such contract is awarded upon the express condition
that such work and improvements shall be done in strict accordance
with and in compliance with the plans and specifications of the City
Engineer therefor, which plans and specifications are hereby made a
part of this ordinance and of the contract awarded, and upon further
conditions among others that the person to whom said contract is
awarded shall furnish to the City of Salina a surety company bond
in the approximate sum of the cost of;such improvements guaranteeing
the promptp proper and workmanlike construction of all the same to -
gather with a surety company ,bond -guaranteeing such pavement against
all defects in material and workmamship for a period of five (5)

years from the date of its completion and acceptance by said City;
and said contract is awarded upon a further condition that said.M. R.
Amerman shall furnish the City -of _Sal na a goad and sufficient surety
company bond guaranteeing said curb and gutter against all defects
in material and workmamship for a period of two (2) years from the

date of its completion and acceptance„of such work by the City; together
with a good and sufficient surety company bond.r.unning to the Stateof
Kansas in an amount approximately equal to the contract price of said
improvements and conditioned that said M. R. Amerman shall pay all.
indebtedness for labor and material furnished in making the improve-
ments provided for herein.
Section 6, The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina
are hereby authorized to make and.enter into on behalf of said City
all written agreements necessary in order to secure the construction
of the improvements herein provided for.
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication ,once in the official City paper.

An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to'be
used and letting a contract for the curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving Gypsum Avenue in the City
of Salina, Kansas from the east line of Fronf Street to
the east line of Columbia Avenue in said City.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That it is hereby determined that Gypsum Avenue
in the City of Salina, Kansas from the east line of Front Street to
the east line of Columbia Avenue in said City shall be paved with
