An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain gas service
pipes in the City of Sarna, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas.
Section 1. -'That the owner of owners of any and all real estate
in the City of Salina, Fansas and abutting
On Third Street from Mulberry Street to Walnut
Street, being lots 140-142-144-146-148=150-152-
154-156-158-160-162-164-166.. and 168 on Third
Street, Original Town of .Salina, Kansas; and
Lots 5 and 10 on Third Street, Original Town
of Salina, f1ansas .
On Elm Street from Ninth Street to College Avenue,
,being Lots 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-8 and.10 on Elm Street
and Lots 38 on Elm Street, all in bishop'.s Addi-
tion.to the City of Salina, K:ansas;. Lots 36 and -
37 on Elm Street, Bishop's Third Addition to the
City of Salina, Kansas; and Lots 1 -2 -3 -4 -5 -6 -7-
8 -9 -10 -11 -12 -13 -14 -15. -16. -17 -18 -19 -20 -21 -22-23-24-
25-26-2.7-28-29-30-31-32-33-34-35-36-3.7-38-39-40-
41 and 42 on Elm Street, in Weaver's Addition to
the City of 0alina, Kansas; and Lot 1 on Twelfth
Street and Lot 1 on Eleventh Street.in Weaver's
Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.
On Claflin Avenue from Highland Avenue to
Fourth Street, being.Lots 8-10-12-14-16-18
and 20 on Claflin Avenue; Lots 71 and 72 on
Santa Fe Avenue, Lots 22-24-26-28-30-32-64
and 36 on Claflin Avenue, all in the Grounds
of the Kansas Wesleyan University Addition
to the City of Salina, Kansas; and that tract
or parcel of ground situated on the south side
of Claflin Avenue between highland Avenue and
Fourth Street, constituting a portion of the
campus of the Kansas Wesleyan University.
be and are hereby required and ordered to construct and lay or to
cause to be constructed and laid on or before the 1st day of March
19232 gas sercive pipes from the gas mains where situate in the
streets whereon said real estate so described abutts to the back of
the curb line, said gas service pipes to be constructed and laid in
tine manner and size of material as specified and required by the
provisions of Ordinance No. 2410 of the City of Salina, Kansas;, which
said Ordinance No. 2410 is by reference hereby incorporated in and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. That if the owner or owners of any of the real
estate above described shall fail, neglect or refuse to so construct
or cause to be constructed or laid said gas service -pipes before the
1st day of March, 1923, then the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas, shall, as soon as practicable after the 1st day of
March.. 1923; and before the laying and construction of any pavement
upon the streets above described, cause such gas service pipes as
described in Section One (1) hereof to be constructed by contract

according to law.
Section 3. That the cost and expense of the construction and
laying of any and all. such gas service pipes, if built by the City
of Salina, Kansas, under the provisions of Section Two (2) Hereof,
shall be assessed against the lots and pieces.of ground abutting on
the street on which such improvement is made, according to the cost
incurred by said City in'making said improvement for eabh of said
lots or parcels of ground, which spe.cial.assessments shall be by
the City Clerk certified to the County.Clerk.of Saline County,.
Kansas, to be by hir collected in like manner as other taxes and
special assessments are collected according to law.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and.. be in force
from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
