An Ordinance providing,.for the construction of certain sewer
service pipes in the City. of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners. of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Seetion.l. That the owner or owners of any and all real
estate in the City of Salina, Kansas, and abutting,
on Elm Street from Ninth Street to College Avenue,
being lots, 1-2�-3-4-5-.6-7-8-9 and.10 on Elm Street
and Lot 38 on Eim Street, all in Bishop's Addition
to the City of Salina, Kansas:; Lots 36'and 37 on Elm
Street in Bishop's Third Addition to the City of
Salina, Kansas; and Lots 1=2=3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-
12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19=20-21=22=23-24-25'26=27-28-
29-3lD=3'T-32'=33=34-35-36-37-38-39-40-41 and 42 on
Elm Street in Weaver's Addition to the City of Galina,
Kansas, and Lot 1 on Twelfth Street and Lot 1 on
Eleventh Street in Weaver's Addition to.the City of
Salina, Kansas,
be and are hereby ordered and required to construct and lay
or cause to be constructed: and laid on or before the 1st day
of karch, 1923, sewer service pipes from the sewer laterals
where situate in the streets whereon said real estate abutts
to the back of the curb line, said sewer service pipes to be
constructed and -laid in the manner and of the size and material
as specified and required by the provisions of ordinance No. 2410
of the City of Salina, Kansas,, which.said ordinance No. 2410 is
by reference hereby incorporated in and made a part of this
ordinance.
Section 2. 'That if the owner or'owners of any of the real
estate above described shall -fail, neglect or refuse to so construct
or:cause to be constructed or laid, said sewer service pipes before
the Ist day of'Mareh, 1923, then the Board of Commissioners of the
pity of-Salina,'Kansas, shall, as soon as practicable after
the 1st day of March, 1923, and before the laying and construction
of any pavement upon the streets above described, cause such sewer
service pipes as described.in Section one (1) hereof to be constructed.
by contract according to law.
Section 3. That the cost and expense of construction and
laying of *any and all such sewer service pipes, if built by the
City of Salina, Kansas under the provisions of Section Two (2)
hereof, shall be assessed against the lots and pieces.of ground
abutting on the street on which such improvement is made, acccr d-
ing to the cost incurred by said City in making said improvement,
for each of'said described lots or parcels of ground, which
special assessments shall be by the City Clerk certified to the

County Glerk' o -f Saline County, Kansas to be .by him collected in like
manner as other taxes and special assessments are collected according
to law.
Seetion'4. This ordinance shall take effect.and be in force
from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
