An Ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation
of certain lots', tracts and pieces of ground in the
City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of opening
Franklin Street in said City between Sherman Street
and Ninth Street therein and providing for the ap-
pointment of appraisers therefor.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina., Kansas.'
Section 1. That it is necessary that there should be
appropriated and condemned and there is hereby appropriated
and condemned for the purpose of opening Franklin Street in
the City of Salina, Kansas between Sherman Street and Ninth
Street therein, said street when so opened to be known as
Franklin Street, the following lots, tracts and pieces of
ground to -wit:
The south 30 feet of Block 9, and the north
30 feet of Blocks 11 and 12, all in Surveyors
Plat Number 10 in the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas, aceording,to.the recorded plat
thereof, except so much thereof as shall have
been heretofore or otherwise appropriated and
condemned for the opening, extending and widen-
ing of Tenth Street, Eleventh Street and Sherman
Street in said City.
Section 2. That the Board of Commissioners shall
appoint three disinterested appraisers and householders to
assess the damage and benefits caused by the appropriation
and condemnation of such lots and pieces of ground and who
shall ascertain the actual value of the land so taken without
-reference to the projected improvements, and the actual dam-
age done to all other property thereby; for the payment of
such valuation and damages, the appraisers shall assess against
the City the amount of benefit to the public generally by
reason of the proposed improvement and the remainder of such
amounts shall be assessed aginst the property within the bene-
fit district to be created which, in the opinion of the apprais-
ers shall be especially benefited by the proposed improvement.
Such appraisers shall make due report in writing of th6ir pro-
ceedings to the Board of Commissioners.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.

An Ordinance providing.for the condemnation and appropriation

appraisers therefor.
BE IT ORDAIITED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas: .
Section 1. That it is necessary that there should be
appropriated and condemned and.there is hereby appropriated
and condemned for the purpose of opening Franklin Street in
the City of Salina, Kansas between Sherman Street and Ninth
Street therein, said street when so opened to be known as
Franklin Street, the following lots, tracts and pieces of
ground, to -wit:
The South 30 feet of Block 91, and the north
30 feet of Blocks 11 and 12, all in Surveyors
Plat Number 10 in the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas, according to the recorded plat
thereof, except so'much'thereof as shall have .
been heretofore or otherwise appropriated and
condemned for the opening, extending and widen-
ing of Tenth Street, Eleventh Street and Sherman
Street in said City.
Section 2. That the Board of Commissioners shall appoint

tion of such lots and pieces of ground and who shall ascertain
the actual value of the land s.o taken without reference to the
projected improvements., and the actual damage done to all other

fit to the public generally by reason of the proposed improvement
and the remainder of such amounts shall be assessed against the

the opinion'of the appraisers shall be especially benefited by
the proposed improvement.. Such appraisers shall make due report
in writi4g of their proceedings to the Board.,of Commissioners.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper. ,
