2613 Construction Safety---- - __-ORDINANCE_NO_._2.6.13_. (Published in Salina Evening Journal November 1!t, 1922) An Ordinance relating to the protection of paving and side- walks in the course of construction; defining a mis- demeanor and providing penalties for the violation thereof. BE IT"ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That it shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to remove, displace, take away or in any manner inter- fere or meddle with any barricade, barrier, obstruction, rail- ing, light or other warning signal placed by the City of Salina, or any agent thereof or by any,company or person acting under the authority or with the consent of said City, for the purpose of protecting any pavement, sidewalk or other public improvement in the course of construction in said -City. Section 2. It.shall hereafter be unlawful for any per- son to walk upon or use any sidewalk or to use or operate any kind of vehicle upon and over any'pavement in the course of construction in said City when the same shall be protected against such use by means of barriers, barricades, obstructions, lights or other warning signals placed there by said City or by persons acting with authority and consent of said City, for the purpose of protecting such unfinished pavement, sidewals or other public work against damage until its completion. , Section 3. Any person violating any of the terms or provisions of this ordinance, shall upon conviction, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by being confined in the City Jail for not more than thirty (30) days or'by a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.,00) or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Introduced for first reading,- November 6th, -1922. Gentlemen: You are hereby requested to consider and to finally pass and adopt upon November 6th, 19221 the day of its introduction, because of public emergency, an ordinance relating to the protection of paving and sidewalks in the course of construction in the City of Salina, Kansas, said ordinance being numbered % , the necessity for the immediate passage and adop- tion of such ordinance constituting a public emer- gency and said ordinance does not confer or grant any franchise or special privilege.
