An Ordinance providing for the issuance of improvement bonds of the
City of Salina, Kansas in the stun of 45,'1,657.99 to pay the
cost of building and constructing certain storm sewers, man-
holes and catch basins in said City.
,WHEREAS, in pursuance of proeeedingsduly had according to law,
contracts have been let and performed for the building and constructinn
of certain storm sewers, manholes and catch basins in the City of
Salina, Kansas including excavating and backfilling, said improvements
geing more particularly described as follows:
A 12 -inch storm sewer on Bond Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas beginning at the end of the existing storm sewer two
hundred'twenty-five feet west of the intersection of High-
land Avenue and Bond Street therein, running thence west
to the center of Ninth Xti°eet in said City with one manhole
and two catch -basins and including excavating and backfilling.
A 12 -inch storm sewer on Republic Avenue in said City, com-
mencing at a manhole at the end of the existing storm sewer
at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Republic Avenue
therein and running thence west on. Reoublic Avenue to the
center of Ninth Street in said City including one manhole and
two batch basins together with excavating and backfilling.
One catch basin at the sougheast corner of the intersection
of Ohio Street and Ash Street in said City,
A 12 -inch storm seiner commencing at a certain manhole on Otis
Avenue in said City between Eighth Street and Ninth Street
therein and running thence northwest acorss the southwest
corner of Block sixty-four (64) in The Episcopal mUlitary
Institute Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, and con-
tinuing to the intersection of Ninth Street and Inez Street,
in said City including one manhole and one catch basin to-
gether with excavating and backfilling, and

cost
of said improvements
has been ascer-
tained and is hereby
found
and
determined to be the
sum of $1,657.99,
Now The re fore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1.. That the cost of such sewers shall be payable in
two equal annual installments instead of levying the entire taxes for
such cost at one time, the first installment of vLich is to be paid
with the taxes for the year 1922 and the second and last installment
which is to be paid with
the
taxes
for the year 1923
and that
for
such
installments there shall
be
issued
Sewer Improvement
Bonds of
the
City
of Salina, Kansas, in the total sum of 4,657.99 as herein provided.
Section 2. Said issue of bonds shall consist of two (2)
bonds of the denomination of $828.992 each and such.bonds shall be
dated April lst, 1922 and shall be payable as follows: -•
$828.992 on the Ist day of April 1923, and $828.991 on the
lst day of April, 1924.
Section 3. Said bonds sha;; bear interest at the rate
of.five (5) per centum per annum, such interest to be payable
semi-annually on the lst day of April and upon the 1st day of
October eaeh year after the date of said bonds, except that
the first interest.coupon shall be due April 1st, 1923. Such
bonds shall have interest coupons attached and both bonds and.
coupons shall be payable at the fiscal agency of the State of
Kansas in the City of Topeka, Kansas.
Section 4. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and
shall be attested by the City Clerk of the City of Salina,
Kansas and shall -have the corporate seal of said City attached
thereto. Interest coupons to said bonds shall be signed by
said Clerk.
Section 5. Said bonds shall be executed in the form
and shall contain recitals substantially as follows:

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE BRESETITS', That the City of Salina in
the County of Saline and. State of Kansas, for value received
hereby acknowledges itself to be indebted and promises to pay
the sum of in lawful money of the United States of
America on the lst day of April A.D.19 , with interest at the,
rate of five (5) per cent per annum, the first installment of
which shall be payable April.lst, 1925; and interest payable
semi-annually thereafter until the principal sum shall have
been paid, upon the presentation and surrender of the proper
interest coupons hereto attached, bearing the signature of the
Clerk of said City, as they severally become due and payable.
Both principal and interest are payable at the fiscal agency
of the State of Kansas in the City of Topeka, Kansas; and the
-City of Salina, Kansas is held and firmly and bound and its
faith and credit and all real and personal property in said.
City are hereby pledges for the prompt payment of the prin-
cipal and interest of this bond upon their maturity.
This bond is a series of bonds of like date and tenor
issued by .the said City of Salina, Kansas, to pay f6r s6 her
improvements in and for said City under and by the authority
of and in compliance with the provisions of the laws of the
State of Kansas governing cities of the first cuss, and ib
compliance with an ordinance duly and legally passed by the
Board of Commissioners of said Uity on the 21dtday of August
1922.
And'it is hereby declared and d-ertified that all acts, con-
ditions and things required to be done and to exist precedent
to and"in the issuance of this bond, have been properly done
and performed and do.exist in regular form as reaquired by the
constitution and laws of the Sate of Kansas, and that total
indebtedness of said City including this series of bonds, does
not exceed any constitutional or statutory limit.

IN WITNESS tAfflLkRE'OF, said City of Salina by its Board of
Commissioners has caused this bond to be signed by its Mayor and
attested by its Clerk and its corporate seal is hereto attached.

directed and empowered without unnecessary delay to prepare and
execute said bonds and coupons as in this ordinance providied and
when executed., said bonds shall be registered with the Clerk of
Salina, Kansas and with the Auditor of the State of Kansas, as
required by law, and shall be by the Mayor of said City delivered
to the contractor or contractors constructing such improvements in
proportion to the amounts due such contractor or contractors in
payment of the amount due them for such improvements; PROVIDED,
however'. that such bonds shall not be sold or delivered to such
contractor or contractors at less than par value thereof nor in
a greater sum or amount than the whole amount due to said contract-
or or contractors under their respective contract with said City,
or the Board of Commissioners may sell said bonds at not less than
their par value and out of the proceeds thereof pay said contract-
or or contractors for said work and improvements.
Section 8. Said Board .of Commissioners shall make
provisions for the payment of the principal and interest
on said bonds as the same becomes due and payable by levying
a tax on the property liable therefor.
Section 9. This ordinance shall take effect and be
of full force from and.after its publication once in the
official City paper.

ORDINANCE NO.
An ordinance providing for the issuance ofimprovement bonds of the City
of Salina, Kansas in the sum of "-1;657.99 to pay the cost of v
building and constructing certain storm -sewers., manholes and
catch basins in said City.
WHEREAS, in pursuance of proceedings duly had according to law,
contracts have been let and performed for the building and. construction
of certain storm sewers, manholes and catch basins -in the City of Salina,
Kanscis including excavating and backfilling, said improvements .being
more particularly,described as follows:
A -12 -inch storm sewer on Bond Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas beginning at the.end of the existing storm server two
hundred twenty-five (225) feet nest of the intersection of
Highland Avenue and Bond Street therein, running thence.west\'
to the center of Ninth Street in said city with one manhole
and two catch basins, and including excavating and backfilling;
Al2-inch storm sewer on Republic Avenue in said City comm-
encing at a manhole at the end of the existing storm server
at the intersection of. Highland Avenue and Republic Avenue -
therein and running thence west on Republic Avenue to the
center of Ninth Street in said city including one manhole and
two catch basins together with excavating and backfilling;
One catch basin at the southeast, corner of the intersection
of Ohib Street and Ash Street in said city;
A 12 -inch storm sewer commencing at a certain manhole on Otis
Avenue in said City between Eighth Street and Ninth Street
therein and running thence northwest across the Southwest
corner of Block Sixty-four (64) in The Episcopal Military
'Institute Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, and con-
tinuing to the intersection of Ninth Street and Inez Street,
in said City including one manhole and one catch basin
together with excavating and backfilling, and
WHEREAS, the total cost of said improvements has.been ascertained
and is hereby found and determined to be the sure of ;1657.99, Now Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,Kansas:
Section 1. That. the cost of such sewers shall be.pa yable in
two equal annual installments instead of levying the entire taxes for
such cost at one time, the first installment of which is to be paid with
the taxes for the year 1922 and the second and last installment which is
to be paid with the taxes for the year 1923 and that for such installments
there shall.be issued Sewer Improve nt Bonds of the City of Salina,
Kansas in the total sum of 7.99 as herein provided.
Section 2. Said issue of bonds shall consist of two (2 ) bonds
of the denomination of $828.99 each and such bonds shall be dated
April 1st, 1922, and shall be payable as follows: 1 V
,63 on the lst day of April, 1923 and $892 on the lst
day of April, 1924.
Section 3. Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of five
