2525 Levy Assessmentsio 1 1 ORDINANCE NO. 2525 (Published in The Sal. ina Evening journal, An Ordinance relating to and apportioning and :levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of building and constructing a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Numtber 2-G in 'saidCity and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City ofSalina, Kansas: Section 1. There is hereby further levied and assessed against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance six (6) per cent interest per annura on all of said installments therein niientioned frori the date of the bonds which may be issued at the end of thirty days as specified in the -preceding section hereof, as by law provided, to the time of collection of the last of said instal Iments as provided by 'law, which said interest shall be collected annually at the same time and in the same manner ,as said installnients-are,collocted; and after the taking effect of this ordinance, it shall be the duty of the City Clerk of said) City to annually, at. the he same time other taxes are certified, and until- all of said assessments so apportioned and levied herein have been certified, to certify to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, a full List of all property liable to assessnient and taxation for such work and improvement, except such property on which the special assessments aforesaid have been paid in full, as hereinbefore provided, together with the respective aiiounts due on each of such, lots and pieces of ground, which amounts shall include the annual installments of such special assessments togeth- er with the interest for one year at the rate of six (6) per cent per annuxi, on all unpaid balthnces of such assessments at the beginning of each such, year as aforesaid, and such amounts so I I I I certified as herein provided shall be placed upon the tax roll by the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas and collected as all other taxes are collected. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed aforesaid, shall be due and collectible in ten (10) equal in- stallments, the first becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1922, and one of said installments falling due each and every year thereafter until all are paid, and all to be collected with interest as in this ordinance provided; PROVIDED, that the owner of any piece of property liable for any such special assess- ment may redeem his property from such liability by paying into the City Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the same as in this ordinance designated, at any time within thirty (30) days after the publication of this ordinance aht before the issu- ance of the bonds of said City in payment of the balance of the cost of said improvements, and his property so paid on shall not thereafter be:liable for any further assessments for the cost of said improvements, nor for any part of said bonds. Section 3. Theme is hereby .further levied and assessed against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance six (6) per cent interest per an.num,on all of said installments therein mentioned from the date of the bonds which may be issued at the end of thirty days as. specified in the preceding section hereof, as by law provided, to the time of collection of the last of said installments as provided by law, which said interest shall be collected annually at the same time and in the same manner as said installments are collected; and after the taking effect of this ordinance, it shall be the duty of 'the City Clerk of said City to annually, at the same time other taxes are certified, and until all of said assessments so apportioned and levied herein have been certified, to certify to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, a full list of all property liable to assessment and taxation for such work and improvement, except such property on which the special assessments aforesaid havd. been paid in full, as hereinbefore provided, together with the respective amounts due on each of such lots and pieces of ground, which amounts shall a include the annual installments of such special assessments togeth= ..4 er with the. interest for one year at the rate ' of Six (6) per cent per annum, 'on all unpaid balances of such. assessments at the beginning of each'such year.as aforesaid, and such amounts so certified as herein'provided shall be placed upon the tax roll by the County Clerk' of Saline County, Kansas and collected as all other taxes are collected.
