An Ordinance relating'to and apportioning and lavying a special
assessment -.on' certain lots and pieces of ground in the -
City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of building and
constructing a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer
District Number 1-G in said City, and relating to and
providing for' tine collection and payment of such assess-
ments.

BE IT ORDAINED by the , Board of Commissioners of the . City of ' Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. For the purpose of pa-ing the cost of building
and constructing a ten -inch sanitary lateral sewer in Lateral
Sewer District Number 1-G in the City of Salina, Kansas, corlimenc-
ing at a certain manhole in the a-11-ey between Beloit Avenue and
Minneapolis Avenue i;L $aid City on the ,Nest side of Fourth Street,
running thence east in said alley to Osborne Street, with two (2)
manholes, -there are hereby levied and assessed on the property
liable therefor, being all of the lots and pieces of ground in
and comprising said Lateral Sewer District Nur�iber 1-G as hereto-
fore provided for and este2tbli shed by Ordinance Number 2456 which are
specially benefited by said sewe�., according `to the appraised value
of such lots and pieces of ground without regard to the buildings or
improvements thereon, spe tial assessments covering the cost of such
work and improvements said special assessments being --based on the
special valuation or appraisement of said lots and pieces of ground
heretofore rude by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said
appraiser;ent is hereby referred to and rl,ade a part of this ordinance
and the several amounts levied, apportiohed and assessed against each
of said lots and pieces of ground for the purpose aforesaid are
hereby found and deterr:.ined to be as follows:

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed
aforesaid, shall be due and collectible in ten (10) equal install-
ments., the first beconiong due with the taxes levied for the year
19220 end one of said installments falling due each and every
year thereafter until all are paid, and all to be collected
with interest as in this ordinance provided; PROVIDED$ that the
owner of any piece of ,property liable for any such special assess-
ment may redeem his property from such liability by paying into
the City Treasury the entire amount cl-je_rgeable against the same as
in this ordinance designated., at any time within thirty (30)
days after the publication of this ordinance .and before the issu-
ance of the' bonds of said City in payment of the balance of the.
cost of said improvei-iients, and his property so paid on shall not
thereafter be liable for any further assessments for the cost of
said improvements., nor for any part of said bonds.
Section 3. There is liereby further levied and assessed
against each lot and -niece of ground described in this ordinance
six (6) per cent -!ntere--,,.t per annum on all of said installments
'therein mentioned from the date of the bonds which may be issued
at the end of thirty days as specified in the preceding section
hereof, as by law. provided., to the tiii-,e of collection of the
last of said installments as -provided by law., which said interest
shall be collected annually at the same time and in the same manner
as said installments are collected; and after the taking effect
of this ordinance it shall be the duty of the City Clerk of said
City to annually, at the same tiy!,-.e other taxes are certified and
until all of said assess lents so apportioned and levied herein have
been certified, to certify to the County Clerk of S,,ij,ine County,
Kansas,, a full list of all propert-y liable to assessment and
taxation for such work and irriproveriieht., except such property on
which the special assessments aforesaid have been paid in full.,
as hereinbefore provided, together with the respective amounts -due
on each of such lots and pieces of ground,, which ariounts,shall
include, the annual installments of such special assessments togethrr-
er with the interest for one year At the rate of six (6) per
vent per annum., on all unpaid balances of such assessments at
the beginning of each such year as aforesaid, and such amounts
so certified as herein provided shall be placed upon the tax
roll b-,,, the County Clerk of Saline Count y, Kansas and collected
as all other taxes are collected.
Section 4. 'This ordinance shall_ take effect and be in
full force from and ,after its .publication once in the official
City paper.

An Ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special

City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of building and
constructing a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer
District Number 1-G in said City, and relating to and

ing at a certain manhole in the alley between Beloit Avenue and
Minneapolis Avenue in said City on the west side of Fourth Street,
running thence east in said alley to Osborne Street, with
manholes, there are hereby levied and assessed on the property
liable therefor, being all of the lots and pieces of ground in
and comprising said Lateral Sewer District Dumber 1-G as here-
tofore provided for and established by Ordinance Number 2456
