An ordinance, relating oto and apportioning and levying special
assessments oni certain lots and -pieces of ground in the
City of Salina!, Kansas, to pay the (cost of building and
constructing al lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer
District Number 2-F in said City and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assess

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas: I

Section 1. Tib,r the purpose of paying the cost of building
and constructing a ten' -inch sanitary laterll sewer in Lateral
Sewer District Number 2-F in the City of Sa14 1-na, Kansas, Co-ffaiiencing
at a certain manhole at the intersection of Highland Avenue

and Re -public Avenue, running thence west on Republic Avenue to
the center line of Ninth Street thereiii., with one (1) manhole,
there are hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor,
being all of the lots and pieces of'grO_Ulndisituate in and compris-
ing said Lai-,eral Sewer'Distriet Number 2-F as heretofore -provided for

and established by Ordinance'Number 2454 which are specially bene-
fited by said sewer, according to the appraised value of such lots and
pieces of ground witho t regard to the buldIngs or ii<,.,provements;
said special assessa-,ents I covering the cosctlof such work and ifnprove-
ments; said special aas!sessrir.ents being based on the special valuation
or appraisement of said lots and pieces of ground heretofore made
by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Salina,! Kansas, which said a-ppraiseirnent is hereby
referred to and made a part of this ordinance, and the several
amounts levied, apportioned and assessed against each of said lots
and pieces of ground for the purpose aforesaid are hereby found and

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assess-
ed aforesaid., shall be due and collectible in ten (10) equal
installments, the first becoming due with the taxes levied for
the year 1922, and one of said installments falling due each
and every year thereafter until all are paid, and all to be
collected with interest as in this ordinance provided, PROVIDED,
that the owner of any piece of property liable for any ,such spe-
cial assessment may redeem his property from such liability by
paying into the City Treasury the entire amount chargeable against
the sane as in tsd s ordinance designated, at any time within
thirty (30) days after the publication of this ordinance and
before the issuance of the bonds of said City in payment of the
balance of the cost of said improvements, and his property so paid.

for the cost of said improvements, nor for any part of said bonds.
Seet_ion 3. There is 'hereby further levied and
assessed against. each lot and piece of ground described in this
ordinance six (6) per cent interest per annum on _all of said
installmentstherein mentioned "from the date of the bonds which may
be issued at the end of thirty days as specified in the preceding
section hereof, as by law provided, to the tir:.e of collection of
the last of said installments as provided by law, which said int-
erest shall be collected annualLLLy at the same time and in the same
manner as said installments are collected; and after the taking
effect of this ordinance, it shall be the duty of the City Clerk
of said City to annually, at the same time other taxes, are certi-
fied, and until all of said assessments so apportioned and levied
herein have been certified, to certify to the County Clerk .of
Saline County, Kansas, a full list of all property liable to
assessment and takation for such work and improvement, except
such property on which the special assessments aforesaid have been
paid in full, as hereinbefore provided, together with the respect-
ive amounts due on each of such lots and pieces of ground, which
amounts shall include the an-flual installments of such special
assessments together with the interest for one year at the rate
of six_ (6) per cent per annum, on all unpaid balances of such
assessments at the beginning of each such yeaar as aforesaid, and
such amounts so certified as herein provided shall be placed,,upon
the tax roll by the County Clerk of Saline CountT] , Kansas and
collected as all other taxes are collected,

Section 4. This ordinance -shall take effect and be in
full force from and a!f'ter its publication once in the official
City paper.

ORDINANCE NO. 2522
An Ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on,certain lots and pieces of ground in the
City of Salina,, Kansas, to pay the cost of building and
constructing a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer
District Number'2-F in said City, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assess-
ments.
BE. IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salida, Kansas:
Section 1. For the purpose of paying the cost of building
and constructing a ten -inch sanitary lateral sewer in Lateral
Seger District Number 2-F in the City of Salina, Kansas, commenc-
ing at a certain manhole at the intersection of Highland.Avenue
and Republic Avenue, running thence west on Republic Avenue to
the center line of Ninth Street therein, with Lmanhole.,. there
are hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor,
being all of the lots and pieces of ground situate in and comprising
said Lateral Sewer District Number 2-F as heretofore provided for
and established by Ordinance Number 2454 vh ieh MUM
are specially benefited by said sewer, according to the
appraised value of such lots and pieces of ground without regard to
the buildings or improvements thereon, special assessments covering
the cost of such work and improvements; said special assessments being
based on the special valuation or appraisement of said lots and
pieces of ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers
appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, which said appraisement is hereby referred to and made a
part of this ordinance, and the several amounts levied, apportioned
and assessed against each of said lots and pieces of ground for the
purpose aforesaid are hereby found and determined to be as follows:
