(rubl.i.shed_in? e Salina Eve-nixig_Journal April gj 1922 ) An Ordinance providing for the condemnation and -appropriation, of a certain tract and parcel"of ground -in the City of Salina,:Kansas for the purpose -of opening and extending Faulkner Street in -said -City from 'the north line of said Faulkner Street north to the south line of Iron Avenue in said City, and providing for the appointment of appraisers therefor. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board,of Commissioners of the City of Salina., Kansas : . Section 1. That it is necessary and should be and there is hereby appropriated and condemned for the purpose of open- ing and extending Faulkner Street from the north limits and terminus of said street north to the south line of Iron Avenue in the City of Salina, Kans as the following described tract, piece and parcel of ground to -wit: IfLot 'seventeen (17) in Plat "B" on.Iron Avenue in the City of Salina, aline County, Kansas, as shown by the record- ed plat thereof of record in the office of the Register of Deeds of said County and State." Section 2. The Mayor by and with the consent of the Board of Commissioners shall appoint three disinterested appraia ers and householders to assess the damages caused thereby and said appraisers shall ascertain the actual value of the land so, taken, without reference to the projected, and -the actual dam- ages done to all other property thereby; for the -payment of such value and damages the appraisers shall assess against the City.the amount of benefit to the public generally and the re- mainder of such amount shall be assessed against the property within the Benefit District to be created, which in their opin- ion shall be especially benefited by the proposed improvements. Said appraisers shall make due report to the Board of Commissior+ ers of said City concerning their proceedings. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Introduced for first reading, April 17th, 1922.
