2486 Construction of Sidewalks1 1 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 2486 (Published in The Salina Evening Journal, April An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain side- walks in the City of Salina, Kansas. . BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commis sioners of -the' City of Salina; Kansas: Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate in the City of Salina, Kansas, and abutting On the south side of E1m.Street from Thirteenth Street to Phillips Street, which is in front of Lots 20-22-24- 26-28 and 30, Weavers Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On the east side of Eleventh Street from Park Street to Elm Street, which is in front"of Lots 19-21-23-25-27-29- 31-33-35 and 37, in Bishop's Third Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On the east side of Fifth Street between Wilson Street and Republic Avenue in front of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 10, Hutcinson's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas; in front of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 120 Hutcinson's Add- ition to the City of 5alina,Kans as; in front of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 14, Hutchinson I s Addition to the City of Salina,Kansas; and in front of Lots 1-2 and 3 in Block 16, Hutchinson's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On the west side of Oakdale' Avenue from Iron Avenue to Gypsum Avenue, which is along the east side of Lots 4 and:5 in .Block 6, Oakdale Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On the east side of Phillips Street from South Street north to alley, which is along the west side of Lot 11, in Phillips 4th Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On the east side of Phillips Street from Spruce Street to Cedar Street, which is in front of Lots 1-2-3 and 4, Maple Row, in Phillip's 3rd Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas;. and along the west side of Lot 12, Phillip s 3rd Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, are hereby required to.construct or cause to be constructed on or before the 15th day of May,.1922, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent 'to all the lots or parts of lots above described, said sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width and in the mannerspecified andrequired by the provisions of Ordinance #2407 of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said Ordinance No. 2407 is by reference hereby incorporated in and made a p -.rt of this ordinance. Section 2. That if the owner or owners of any of the real estate above described shall fail, negle ct or refuse to so construct, lay and build said sidewalk before the said 15th day of May 19212, then the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina shall as soon as practicable after the 15th day of May 1922, cause suchsidewalk as described in Section One (1) here- of to Pe constructed by contract according to law. Section 3. The cost and expense of the corstruction of any and all such sidewalk if built by the City .of Salina under the provisions of Section Two (2) hereof, shall be assessed against the lots and pieces: of land abutting on such sidewalk according to the front feet thereof; and a special assessment shall be levied by the City Clerk and certified by the City Clerk to the County Clerk to be by him collected in like manner, as other taxes against such real estated. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Introduced for first reading, March 27th, 1922.
