An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain side-
walk in the City of Salina., Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 10' That the owner or owners of any and all real
estate.in the City of Salina, Kansas and abutting
On the east side of Ninth Street from the south line
of Lot 5, in Block.28, Military Addition to the City
of Salina, Kansas; north to south line of Hamilton
Street; which is in feont .of Lots 5-7-9-11-13-15-17-
19 in Block 28, Military Addition to the City of Salina,
Kansas; Lots 1-3-5-7-9-11-13-15-17-19 in Block 45,
Military Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.
On the east side of Ninth Street from the north line
of Grand Avenue to the south line of Pacific Street,
which is along the west side of Lot 21 in Block 13,
and in front of Lots 1-3-5-7-9-11-13-15-17-19 in Block
13 Pacific Addition; and in front of Lots 1-3-5-7-9-11-
13-15-17-19, in Block 5, Pacific Addition.
On the north side of Pacific Street from Seventh
Street to Ninth Street, which is along thw south side
of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 1 in the Episcopal Military
Institute Addition; and along the south side of Lots
1 and 2 in Block 28, in iviilitary Addition to the City
of Salina, Kansas.
On the west side of Eighth Street from Pacific Street
to Hamilton Street, which is -in -front of Lots 2-4-6-
8-10-12-14-16-18-20 in Block 281, and in front of Lots
2 -4 -6 -8 -10 -12 -14 -16 -18 -and 20 in Block 45, all in Mili-
tary Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.
On the south side of Antrim Street from Santa Fe
Avenue to Fifth Street, which is along the north side
of Lots 20 and 31, in Block 15, Episcopal Military
Institute Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.
Ori the east side of Eleventh Street from Charles
Street south 100 feet, which is in front of Lot 1,
in Block 16, South Park Addition to the City of Salina,
Kansas.
On the east side of Tenth Street from Iron Avenue to
State Street, which is in front of the Parochial School
Grounds in the City of Salina, Kansas.
On the north side of Ash Street from Oakdale Avenue
to Penn Avenue which is along the south side of Lots
29 and 30, in Block 63, Riverside Park Addition to the
City of Salina, Kansas.
On the west side of Fifth Street.from Antrim Street,
south 120 feet,' which is in front of Lots 16-18 and
20 in Block 15, Epsicipal Military Institute Addition
to the City of Salina, Kansas.
On the east side of Fifth Street between Iron .Avenue
and Ash Street, in front of Lots 93-95-99 and in front
of the South 1/2 of Lots 101 and 103, all in the origin-
al Torun of Salina, Kansas.,
are hereby required to construct or cause to be constructed on or
before the first day of May 1922, a sidewalk in front of and
adjacent to all the lots or parts of lots above described, said
sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width and in -the man-
ner specified and rega.ired by the provisions of Ordinance No. 2407
of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said Ordinance No."2407 1s
byreference hereby incorporated in and.made a part of this ordi-
nance.

Section 2. That if the owner or owners of any of the real
estate above described shall fail, neglect or refuse to so con-
struct lay and build said sidewalk before the said first day of
May 1922, then the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
shall, as soon as practicable after thesaid first day of May,
19221, cause such sidesalk as described in Section One (1) hereof
to be constructed by contract according to law.
Section 3. The cost and expense of the construction of
any and all such sidewalk if built by the City of Salina under
the provisions of Section Two (2) hereof, shall be assessed agaiit
the lots and pieces of land abutting on such sidewzlk according
to the front feet thereof; and a special assessment shall be lev-
ied by the City Clerk and certified by the City Clerk to the Coun
ty Clerk to be by him collected in like manner as other taxes
against such real estate.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper.
