An Ordinance providing for the condemning and removal
of certain buildings and structures in the City
of Salina, Kansas.
WHEREAS, cdrtain complaints have been made of
certain buildings and structures on the property herein-
after described, and
WHEREAS, after full investigation of said complaints
and an inspection of said buildings and structures of this
Board and by Mr. Ben Wolbert, the Fire Marshal of the City
of Salina, this Commission finds.that the buildings and
structures on the realestate hereinafter described are
inimical to the public safety and welfare of the City of
Salina and are dangerous and a menace to the traveling
public and to all residents and property owners in the
vicinity thereof, and
WHEREAS, the buildings and strucutres hereinafter
described, have become and are insecure and dangerous,
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina:
Section 1. That the buildings and structures here-
inafter described and located, as follows, to -wit:
The one-story frame building located on the South
1/2 of Lot 81 and.th.e one-story frame building located on
the North 1/2 of Lot 83, Santa Fe Avenue, Original Town
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and at what are known as
Numbers 150 and 152 North Santa Fe Avenue,
and each and every one of them are her.reby condemned and
ordered removed within thirty (30) days from the date of
publication hereof, and that the Fire Marshal of the City
of Salina be and he is hereby directed to notify the owner
or owners of said buildings and structures, and each and
every one of them, or if said owner or owners are unknown,
to post a written notice on each of said buildings or
structures notifying said owners that the same are un-
safe, insecure and dangerous and a menace to the ibraveling
public and to all residents and property owners in said
a
vicinity. Should the said owner or owners refuse after,
three days notice from the Fire Marshal, or if the owner
or owners are unknown, three days after the Fire Marshal
shall have posted said written notice on said buildings
or structures that said buildings or structures are unsafe
or dangerous, the Fire Marshal aforesaid, shall remove
said buildings or structures and keep an account of the
cost of the same and report it to the said Board of Com-
missioners, who shall levy a special assessment against
the property for the cost of removing said buildings or
structures; that said assessment shall be certified and
Levied and collected in the manner of other special assess-
ments and as provided by law.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its publication once in
the official City pAper.

0V'HI�HEAS, certain complaints have been made of certain
buildings and structures on the property hereinafter described,
and

an inspection of said buildings and structures of this Board
