2414 License Tax Public Dance0 - ORDINANCE NO. 2413 An Ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes. BE IT ORDAINED by The .Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the sum of 4?10,886.55 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the moneys from the various funds in the City Treasury of the City of Salina, Kansas, not otherwise appropriated for the payment of mis- cellaneous claims hereinafter enumerated, showing to whom and for what purpose the claim is paid: General Fund -- Administration F. BE IT ORDAINED by The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina: Section 1. That from and after the publication of this ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person, persons, clubs, -societies or organizations, without first having obtained from the City Clerk a license so to do, to conduct or assist in conducting any public dance and without having paid to the City Clerk for sucii license the amount specified in the following schedule: For one year X100.00 For six monthsw%0.00 For single day or night 43.00 Section 2. Licenses mentioned in Section One (1) here- of shall become effective as of January 1st or July lst, following the date of its issue, and no license shall be is- sued for a term less than six months,.excepting licenses for a single day or night. Section 3. All licenses shall be non -assignable and non -transferable. Section.4.. The term "Public Dance" as used in this ordinance shall mean any dance to which the public is invit;.,:;. ed,.or an admission fee is charged to the hall or floor, whether such admission fee is collected by invitation or otherwise. Clubs, organization and societies giving dances to whorl no one is admitted except bona -fide members of such clubs, organizations or socieites, do not come within the provisions of this ordinance. Section 5. It is hereby declared to be a nuisance for any person, persons, clubs, socieites or organizations to conduct or assist in conducting a public dance on the Sab- bath Day commonly called "Sunday" in the City of Salina, Section 6. Any person, persons, clubs, socieities or organizations violating any of the provisions of this ordi- nance shall upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum not less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00 for each offense. Section 7. That ordinances numbered 1931, 1952 and 2378 be and the same are hereby repealed. Section..8.
