An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain
sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by The Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the owner or -owners of any and all
real estate.abutting
On the west side of Connecticut Avenue from Iron
Avenue, north 150 feet, which is along the east side of
Lot 14, Block 1, Fruitland Addition;
On the East side of Eighth Street from Grand Avenue
to Decatur, which is*a in front -of Lots 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9
and 10, Block 6, Calkints Addition;
On the east side of Eleventh Street from Ash Street,
north, which is on the west side of Lot 7, and in front of
Dots 3 and 5 Bristol's Addition;
On each side of Putnam venue from South Street to
Morrison Avenue, which is in the rear of Dots 1-2-3-4-5-
6-7 and 8, on Ninth Street and the rear of Lots 9-10-11-12-
13-14-15 and 16 on Tenth Street, Block 12 Morrison's Addi-
tion in the City of Salina, Kansas,
are hereby required to construct°or,cause to be constructed
on or before the 12th day of November, 1921, a sidewalk in
front of and adjacent to all the lots or parts of lots
above described; said sidewalk to be constructed of the
material, width and,in the manner specified and required by
the provisions of Ordinance No. 2407, which said Ordinance
No. 2407 is hereby.incorporated in and made a part of this
ordinance.
Section 2. That if the owner or owners of real estate
above described shall fail, neglect or refuse to build said
sidewalk before the said 12th day of November, 1921s then
the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina shall, as
soon as practicable after the said 12th day of November 1921,
cause such sidewalk as described in Section One (1) hereof
to be constructed .by contract according to law.
Section 3. The cost and expense of the construction of
such sidewalk if built by the City of Salina under the pro-
visions of Section Two (2) hereof, shall be assessed against
the lots and pieces of ground abutting on such sidewalk ac-
cording to the front feet thereof; and a special assessment
shall be levied by the City Clerk and certified by the City
Clerk to the County Cl Wk to be by him collected in life man-
ner as other taxes against such real estate.

Section 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
