An ordinance amending Section '31 and Section 43 of Ordinance
Number 1618 and repealing said original sections.
BE IT-`_`ORDAIINED by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
SectlojI_J.. That Sect ion 31 of Ordinance Number 1618 be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 31. All livery stables, hack barns, garages
and 1'auixlries when connected to the sewer must install and
provide a` standard floor drain constructed as nearly as prac-
t icab-le in 'accordance with Dehns Number 62 Model "Peerless"
Sanitary Floor Drain, such drains to contain standard strainer
and t'o be .'so "constructed that by the removal of such strainers
such drains and the waste accumulated therein may be removed
and cleaned. Such drains shall be not less than twenty (20)
inches in diameter, and not less than thirty (30) inches in
depth'."
Section 2.That Section 43 of Ordinance Number 1618 be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
" Sect ion 43. Allwat e'r supply or d omest is service pipes
hereafter laid in the City of Salina and connecting with cast
iron :wat`er service in any street, court, alley, avenue or
place In the City of Salina, shall be laid at least three and
one-ha'lf (32) feet below the surface of the ground or pavement.
No such Water supply or domestic service pipes shall be less
than three-quarters (3/4) inch from the curb line to where they
connect, .with the main water service of lead., not less in weight
than that called "double strength." _ No such water supply or
domestic service pipes extending from the curb line to the main
water service shall be less than three-quarters (3/4) inch in
inside _ diameter and the three-quarter (3/4) inch pipe shall
weigh. not, less than four (4) pounds per foot.
All' joints and connections shall be of brass screw joints.
At the curb line a T handled round way stop, with an inverted .
key must be placed preperly fitted with a cast iron curb box
marked "water" on the cover. The top of this curb box must be
flush with the_ surface of the ground. On the inside of the
foundation of the building a stop and waste cock must be placed
the same size of the surface pipe entering the building. A
wheel or lever handle may be used for this cock. All main
water pipes and branches inside of the. building must drain
toward this waste cock.".
Sect io�T�_ That said original Sections 31 and 43 of
Ordinance Number 1618 be and the same .are hereby repealed.
Sect ion 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City .paper.
