An ordinance defining certain misdemeanors and providing pen-
alties for the violation thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayorand Councilmen of the city of Salina,
Kansas;
Section 1. That all persons-, firms, co -partnerships or
corporations engaged in conducting or operating any place -of
business within the City of Salina, Kansas, and whehter as
owner_ or as the agent of another, shall provide on the premises
where such business is conducted or operated a suitable covered
retainer or receptacle for trash, rubbish, waste paper or any
inf.lamahle or combustible -refuse, which receptacle prior to its
installation shall be inspected by the Fire Uhief of said Gity
and shall be deemed sufficient only upon his approval thereof,
and it shall be unlawful for any such person, persons, firm,
co -partnership or corporation to fail or neglect to provide,
install and maintain the receptacles hereinbefore mentioned,
or to pile, place or discard any waste paper, trash, refuse or
any inflamable or combustible trash or rubbish upon any vancant
lot orin any place or alley within said City and that the same
shall be, until its permanent disposal placed and kept only in
the covered receptacle hereinbefore provided for.
Section 2,,._ Any person, firm, co -partnership or corpora-
tion violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be fined in any sum not exceeding $25.00.
Section a. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
