An ordinance providing for the issuance of Sewer Improvement
Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of
$19,036.28
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the city of Salina,
Kansas, have caused to be built and constructed certain sewers
in said City as provided in Ordinance Number 2319, the total
price of which is in excels of $19,136.28; Now, Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the cost of such sewers shall be payable
in ten (10) annual installments instead of levying the entire
taxes for such cost at one time, the first installment of which
is to be paid with the taxes for the year 1921 arid one installment
each year thereafter until the whole of such sum is paid and that
for such installments there shall be issued Sewer Improvement
Bonds of the City of Salina, in the total sura of $lD,136.28
as herein provided.
_Section 2. Said issue of bonds, shall consist of thirty-
eight (38) bonds of the denomination of Five Hundred (500.00)
Dollars each and one bond of the denomination of Thirty -Six
and 28100 Dollars ($36.28) They shall be dated June lst,
1920 and payable as follows:
;1,036.28 on the first day of June 1921, and $2000.00
on the first day 'of June, of each year thereafter for
a period of nine {9) -years.
Section_ 3. Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of
five (5%) per cent per annum, such interest to be payable semi-
annually on the first day of Lecember and June of each year.
Such bonds shall have interest coupons attached and both bonds
and coupons shall be payable at the fiscal agency of the State
of Kansas in the City of Topeka) Kansas.
_Section 4. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas, and shall
have the corporate seal of said City attached thereto. Inter-
est coupons to said bonds shall be signed by the said Clerk.
Section 5. Said bonds shall be executed in the form and
shall contain recitals substantially as follows:

in the County of Saline and State of Kansas, for value received,
hereby acknowledges itself to be indebted and promises to pay the
sum of , in lawflu money of the United States of America on

the rate of five per cent per annum, the first installment of which
shall be payable December first, 1920, and interest payable semi-
annually thereafter and on the first day of June and December ' of
each year thereafter until the principal sum shall have been
paid, upon the presentation and surrender of the proper interest
coupon hereto attached, bearing the signature of the Clerk of said
City, as they severally become due and payable. �oth principal
grid interest are payab�_le at the fiscal agency of the State of
Kansas in the City of Topeka, Kansas, and the City of Salina, Kan-
sas, is held and firmly bound and its faith and credit and all
real and personal property in said City are hereby pledged for
the prompt payment of the principal and interest of this bond upon
their maturity.
This bond is one of a series of bonds of like date and tenor
issued by said City of Salina, Kansas, to pay for sewer improvements
in and for said City under and by the authority of and in compliance
with the provisions of the laws of the State of Kansas, governing
cities of the second class, and in compliance with an ordinance
duly and legally passed by the Mayor and Council of said City on
the day of
And it is hereby declared and certified' that all acts, con-
ditions and things required to be done and to exist precendent to
and in the issuance of this bond have been properly done and per-
formed, and do exist in regular and due form as required by the
constitution and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total
indebtedness of said City, including this series of bonds, does
not exceed any constitutional or statutory limit.
IN WITNESS WHZ' REF, said L'ity of Salina, by its Mayor and
Council, has caused this bond to be signed by its Mayor and attest-
ed by its Clerk and its corporate seal heret6 attached.

directed to prepare and execute as soon as practicable, the said
bonds herein provided for, therein pledging the credit of the
said city for the payment thereof, and when executed, said bonds
shall be by the IVIayor and Councilmen sold, for not less than their
par value, and out of the proceeds thereof shall be paid the cost
of building and constructing the sewers aforesaid; and the Mayor
and Council shall make provision annually for the payment of the
of the principal and inter -.est of said bonds as the same shall
become due, by levying an assessment on the property liable
therefor.
Section S. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from, and after its publicatidn once in the Salina
Evening Journal.

WTIFFEIIS, the I-iayo2' and Council of the City of Salina, Kansas,
have caused to be built and constructed certain sewers in said City

excess of 419,036.28; Now, Therefore,
Be it ordained by the I4ayo'r and Councilmen of Salina, Kansas:
