An ordinance rdlating to the Fire Department of the City of
Salina, ransas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That from and after the lst' day of April,
1920, the members of the Fire Department of this City shall be
divided into two platoons, one to perform day service and the
other night service. The hours of duty of the day force shall
be from Eight A- Yl- to Six P. IVI. , and the hours of duty of the
night force shall be from Six P. M. to Eioht A. M. the folow-
ing morning; PROVIDED, that on every fifteenth day, for the pur-
pose of alternating the day force with the nit force, and vice -
versa, and for the purpose of giving one force or platoon of men
twenty-four hours off duty, every fifteenth day- thereafter, will
remain on duty to eight r. M. the following norning, -but one
force or platoon shall be at liberty at all times, except as
otherwise provided.
Section 2. That when the fire alarm is sounded, such fireO
man as may be off duty will immediately report to the Fire Depart-
ment as ready at command of Fire Chief to be summoned to assist
in the protection of life and property.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. jhis ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.

An ordinance relating to the fire department of the City of Salina,
Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Iayur and Council of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 1. That from and after the,.LsT, day of April

to Sig P. Y., and the hours of duty of the night force shall be from
Sig P. Id. to Eight A. Y. the following morning; PROVIDED, that on
every fifteenth day, for the purpose of alternating the day force
with the night force, and vice -versa, and for the purpose of giving
one force or platoon of men twenty-four hours off duty, every fif-
teenth day the force or platoon of men who go on duty at Eight A. E7.
on said fifteenth day and every fifteenth day thereafter, will remain
on duty to Eight A. 91. the following morning, but one force or
platoon shall be at liberty at all times, except as otherwise pro-
vided.
