A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY OF SALINA PARTICIPATION IN A JOINT
CITY -COUNTY TASK FORCE TO REVIEW THE FEASIBILITY OF CONSOLIDATED
CITY AND COUNTY GOVERNMENT.

W WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters has studied the concept of City -Count consolidation
for nearly two years; and
s WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters has done an outstanding job of educated the public

about this issue and has asked important questions about governmental service delivery in Salina and
Saline County; and
WHEREAS, in September, 2006 the League of Women Voters formally requested that the City
of Salina and Saline County form a joint task force to study the advantages and disadvantages of
consolidation; SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the City of Salina's participation in a joint City -County Task Force is hereby
established to review the feasibility of consolidated City and County government.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 91" day April, 2007.
