ORDINANCE NO. 2260 7
(Published in the Salina Evening Journal June 1919)
An ordinance providing; for the taking of a census in the city
of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDt=ED by the Mayor and Council of the city of Salina:
Section 1. That a census be and is hereby ordered to be
taken of the inhabitants of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the
purpose of ascertaining the number of persons inhabitant within
said City.
`Section 2. Thd Mayor, by and with the consent of the Coun-
cil after the passage and -publication of this ordinance, shall
appoint sixty persons, residents of the city of Salina, Kansas,
who shall make a thorough canvass and enumeration of all the
inhabitants of the City of Salina, Kansas, and such persons so
appointed by the Mayor and Council, as aforesaid, upon the com-
pletion of their labors under the appointment s.o to be made, shall
submit the records made by them together with the totals computed
Py them to the l.4ayor and Council of said City.
Sectibn 3. That the work of enumeration shall begin as
Poon as practicable after the publication of this ordinance and
shall be completed within thirty (30) days from the date of the
publication hereof. Such persons so to be appointed as afore-
said shall not receive any compensation for their services in
connection therewith.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City paper.
