An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and letting the contract for the paving, excavating and
grading of certain alleys in the City of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED By the 101ayor and Council of the City of" Salina:
Section 1. The Mayor and Council hereby determine that
the alley between Seventh and Eighth street in the City of Salina.,
Kansas, from the north line of Iron "venue to the south line of
Ash Street, and the alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh
Street from the north line of ash street to the south line of
Elm Street in said City shall each and all be paved with one -
course concrete pavement six �(6) inches in thickness, and to be
of the width as follows:
The alley between Seventh and Eighth Street in said City
within the limits hereinbefore defined, shall be paved ten (10)
feet in width.
The alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street in said
City within the limits hereinbefore defined shall be paved ten
(10) feet in width.
Section 2. All excavating, filling and rolling necessary
for the proper construction of such improvement shall be done and
all of sucil improvements shall be rrade and done in strict confor-
mity to and in compliance with.the plans and specifications made
heretofore by the City Engineer and are now on file with the C itN7`
Clerk, which said plans and specifications are hereby incorporated
in and trade a part hereof, in all respects as fully and complete-
ly as though written out at length herein; and such plans and spe-.
cifications are hereby adopted as and for the plans and specifica-
tions of such work and improvements.
Section 3. A contract is hereby awarded to The Peterson
Construction Company of Salina, -Kansas., for the paving, excavat-
ing and fillinjZ of the above mentioned alleys within the limits
aforesaid, with the material specified in Section One (1) hereof,
at and for a price, for the paving actually laid and put in place
of 02.75 per square yard, and for the excavating and grading of
said alleys the contractor shall be paid a price of $1.00 per cubic
yard for all excavating, or grading actually and necessarily done
for the proper completion of such work. 11 of siad improvement
is to be paid for according to the measurement thereof by the City
Engineer of the City of Salina. The Mayor and Council of said City
hereby determine and find that the price agreed to be paid for the
improvements aforesaid is less than the estimated prices and cost
of each and all of said improvements as now on file with the .City
Clerk.

Section 4. Such contract is awarded upon the express
condition that such work and improvement shall be done in st'ric't
accordance with and in compliance with the plans and specifica-
tions of the City Engineer thiereofor, which are hereby made a
part of this ordinance, and : of the contract hereby awarded, and
uponIfurther conditions among others, that the said The Peterson
Construction Company shall give to the City of Salina, a surety
bond'I in the approximate sum of the cost of such improvements,
guaranteeing the proper and workmanlike construction of all of

for a, period of five years from the date of its completion and
acceptance by the said City.',
'Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force, from and after its publication once in the official City

ORDINANCE NO. 2252
An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be

BE IT ORDAINED BY the Mayor and Council of the City of Salina:
Section 1. The Idayor and Council hereby determine that the
alley between Seventh and Eighth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
from the North line of Iron Avenue to the South line of Ash Street,
and the alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from the
North line of Ash Street to the South line of Elm Street in said
City shall each and all be paved with one course concrete pavement
