Ordinance 94-9643
Background:
At its July 21 meeting, the Salina Arts and Humanities Commission unanimously
approved a recommendation to the City Commission to increase its membership from ten
(10) to twelve (12) members.
As a result of the 1990 Wolf Report and subsequent Arts and Humanities' retreats,
Arts and Humanities Commissioners discussed increasing membership because of the
ever-growing committee work and financial/ fundraising responsibilities with the
Foundation. The first step involved working out a "partnership process" with the
City Commission in making appointments, which has happened. Therefore, it is an
ideal time to recommend expansion of the Arts and Humanities Commission membership,
with appointments of new board members coming in August.
Recommendation
City Commission increase membership on the Salina Arts and Humanities Commission to
twelve (12) members. Involved is an amendment to Section 2-162 (membership;
appointment; term) of Ordinance Number 91-9442 to read: The said commission shall
consists of twelve (12) members, which shall be appointed by the Mayor, etc. ----
Approve Ordinance Number 94-9643.
