Discussion of Potential 1994 CDBG Housing Application.
Background
The Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing has released the
schedule and application forms for the 1994 CDBG Housing Program.
Grants are available for up to $300,000 for housing rehabilitation
and/or hOmebuyer assistance. Recipients must be low-and-mOderate
income which varies based on household size. Grants are aWarded
on a competitive basis according to housing needs and program
:, effectiveness. No local match is required but administrative
costs may not exceed 10 percent of the grant amount. Thus some
local funds will be needed to implement the program.

The application deadline for the 1994 program is July 15. A
public hearing must be held on the proposed application. The
recommended hearing date is July 11.
