Report on Petition No. 4077 requesting vacation of the platted Claflin Avenue
right-of-way from Ohio Street to Austin Circle.
Background
The petition was submitted on February 23, 1994 by Mr. Jonathan C. Cossette, who
currently owns Lot 3, Block 1, Gile Addition. On March 7, 1994, the City
Commission established March 21, 1994 as the date for the public hearing on this
petition. The appropriate publications have been made regarding the public
hearing.
At this time, the staff requests a continuation of the public hearing for two
weeks to allow further review of the unresolved issues and provide additional
time to meet with adjacent property owners. The petition requests a significant
vacation of public street right-of-way which in turn has an impact on numerous
properties.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission continue the public hearing until
Monday, April 4, 1994.
