Change Order No. 1 for the 1995 Subdivision Improvement Project No.
95-938.
BACKGROUND
The attached Change Order No. 1 includes water and sanitary sewer
system relocations at the proposed Magnolia/I-135 Interchange
project. These utility relocations are one of the final items to
complete for the interchange project prior to the December il, 1995
deadline established by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
It has been determined by staff that this negotiated change order
on an existing utility contract is the most expediant and cost-
effective method of completing this essential project.
The total cost of Change Order No. 1 is $13,645. The contractor,
Stevens Contractors, Inc. has committed to completing the work in
20 calendar days. The source of funds for this change order is the
Magnolia/I-135 Interchange project account, the budget for which
included contingency amounts for this type of utility relOcation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission approve Change Order No.
1 on the 1995 Subdivision Improvements Project No. 95-938 in the
amount of $13,645.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 6th day of November ,
1995 , by and between the CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, Owner, and the above
named Contractor, modifies the existing contract dated October 9. 1995,
under the above subject, project and project number in the following
particulars to wit:
1. The specifications and drawings for certain street improvements in
the City of Salina, Kansas, dated September - 1~9~ , are hereby amended
in the following particulars only; all other terms and conditions remain
unchanged.

67 Add "Relocation of existing Fire Hydrant, one (1) each.
68 Add "Removal of existing Fire Hydrant, one (1) each.
69 Add "8" Sewer Plug", one (1) each.

2. The undersigned proposes to furnish all tools, appliances,
equipment, materials, and labor required to complete the construction in
a thorough, workmanlike, and satisfactory manner in accordance with the
