Project No. 95-922, and authorize a bid date for the project,
BACKGROUND
The 1995 Capital Improvement Program includes a multi-phase water
distribution system improvement located at the airport industrial
area in southwest Salina. The improvements are necessary to solve
several operational problems with the existing system, improve the
efficiency of the system, reduce costs of operating the system and
to provide for future growth and water needs in this area of the
city. A four-phase approach to these improvements has been
developed as follows:

Total Estimated Cost: $1,658,100
The Waterwell Road Water Distribution System Improvements involves
the installation of nearly four miles of 6", 12" and 16" water
pipeline on Waterwell Road between Centennial Road and Burma Road.
This pipeline replaces an existing oversized and defective pipeline
and provides for future improved service to the area. The new,
relocated pipeline also allows for the advancement of the Waterwell
Road Paving Improvements by Saline County.
The 1995 budget allocates $1,200,000 in cash funds from the Capital
Improvement Program for the multi-phase water system improvements.
The actual costs of the improvements will be known when bids are
received.
