Change Order No. i for the Eastgate Addition Drainage Improvements,
Project No. 95-937.
BACKGROUND
The project involves the improvement of the existing storm drainage
system located in the Eastgate Addition. The original design
included two major parts, (1) improved grading and alignment of the
drainage channel from the northeast corner of the subdivision to
the outfall structure under the flood control levee and (2)
increased capacity of the detention basin, particularly at lower
elevations than the street.
During recent flooding periods, one clear message has been heard
from the property owners in Eastgate Addition. That statement was,
"before the existing drainage channel on the east and south
boundaries of Eastgate can be adequately maintained, the ditch must
be regraded to it's original cross section". To this end, Change
Order No. 1 has been negotiated with Frank Construction to provide
that additional grading and seeding in the existing drainage
channel. This additional work will provide excellent closure to
the drainage improvements in Eastgate.
The original contract amount is $48,600. The total amount of
Change Order No. i is $7,320 or a 15 percent increase in the
contract. This project is funded through the 1995 Capital
Improvement Program.
RECOMMENDATION
It is reco~£~fLended that the City Commission approve Change Order No.
i for the Eastgate Addition Drainage Improvements, Project No. 95-
937, in the amount of $7,320.00.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this llth day of September ,
1995, by and between the CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, Owner, and the above
named Contractor, modifies the ex±st±ng contract dated May 22, 1995,
under the above subject, project and project number in the following
particulars to wit:
1. The specifications and drawings for certain street improvements in
the City of Salina, Kansas, dated April - 1995 , are hereby amended in
the following particulars only; all other terms and conditions remain
unchanged.
