First reading Ordinance Number 95-9703 levying special assessments against
certain lots and pieces of property to pay the cost of sidewalk repair.
Background
This ordinance is required in order to recover the costs involved in repair of
sidewalks throughout the City. Property owners were originally notified that
they must repair sidewalks on their property within a specified amount of time,
or the City would do the work and they would be billed for the cost. If these
bills are not paid, they are added to their tax bill as a special assessment.
A total of $2,684.82 will be assessed to property owners.
Recommendation
Approve Ordinance Number 95-9703 for first reading.
