Award of contract for the Police Department Remodeling
Improvements, Project 95-941.
BACKGROUND
This project involves the remodeling of the main floor
communications room at the Salina Police Department for the
addition of two interrogation rooms and the relocation of one
police captain and one secretary. The co~muunications operation was
moved from this main floor space to the basement in 1994.
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, June 27, 1995 as
follow:

Rapp Construction, Inc. $24,975.00 July 17-October 25, 1995
Lancaster Construction, Inc. $25,376.00 July 17-October 15, 1995
The architect's estimate is $25,416.00.
The architectural firm of Jones-Gillam Architects of Salina was
retained to design the proposed improvements and to inspect the
construction. These improvements were proposed in the 1995 budget.
Funds for the project will be allocated from the building account
of the Capital Improvement Program.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission award the contract for
the Police Department Remodeling Improvements, Project No. 95-941,
to Keehner Construction Company in the amount of $22,225.00.
