Report on bids received on a hydraulic vertical wheelchair lift.
Background
From 1979 to 1985, floor seating was the only area made available to mobility
impaired patrons during arena events. In 1986, a lift was installed to make it
possible to transport people to the mezzanine level. Section 105 was remodeled
to create seating for nine wheelchairs. The Accessibility'~dvisory Board raised
some concerns about the existing lift--slow speed, noise of lift, platform size,
and capacity. Staff worked t6 find a lift that would better meet the needs of
our patrons. At their April 20, 1995, meeting, the board endorsed the project
to purchase the new lift..
The total, amount of $20,000 would come from the Bicentennial Center capita%
outlay budget.

Recommended Action
It is recommended tha~ the City Commission accept the bid of $17,745 and award
the contract to Home Elevator Company.
