Award of contract for the Eastgate Addition Drainage Improvements,
Project No. 95-937.
BACKGROUND
The project involves the improvement of the existing storm drainage
system located in the Eastgate Addition which is east of Ohio
Avenue and south of Crawford Street. Development in this
residential subdivision is nearly complete. In recent years, the
storm drainage system has been plagued with problems. A study was
conducted to investigate the system in 1994 and the recommendations
were to complete the receiving drainage channel to the north and to
provide more storage in the detention basin at lower elevations.
Both of these improvements will greatly enhance the system. The
improvement of the Eastgate drainage system will also have a
positive effect on the upstream properties including Austin
Subdivision and Laurie Subdivision.
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, ~ay 16, 1995 as
follows:

The engineer's estimate for the project is $70,620.00. This
project was carried over from the 1994 Capital Improvement Program.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the contract
with Frank Construction Company, Inc. for the Eastgate Addition
Drainage Improvements, Project No. 95-937, in the amount of
$48,600.00.
