Report on Petition No. 4099 requesting the vacation of public
street right-of-way for Smoky Hill Drive from Penn Avenue to
Columbia Avenue.
BACKGROUND
The petition was submitted to the City Clerk on March 24, 1995.
The City Coff~aission referred the petition to the City Engineer on
April 3, 1995.for further review. A public hearing with the City
Commission was scheduled for May 1, 1995 to consider the request.
To date, staff has been unable to make contact with all affected
property owners to resolve access, utility location and property
ownership issues related to this existing street right-of-way. The
other unresolved issue is the desirability of the City or other
interested parties to convert the right-of-way to park land.
RECO594ENDATION
It is recoff~ftended that the City Commission continue the public
hearing until Monday, May 22, 1995 to allow staff additional time
to investigate the matter.
