4.1 Life Underwriters' Week S oA oL oU The Salina Association of Life Underwriters CITY OF SALINA PRO~TION BY THE MAYOR TO THE PEOPLE OF SALINA, GREETINGS: WHEREAS, throughout the long sweep of history, humankind has sought to meet the risks of life; and WHEREAS, while various means for doing so have evolved, none is more effective or available to meet the economic consequences of risk than insurance; and WHEREAS, the institution of insurance has given succeeding generations of Americans a systematic, practical method to assure individual, family and business economic security and to realize important life objectives; and WHEREAS, the prudent stewardship of the private insurance business in our country haa additionally provided a continuing source of venture capital that undergirds national economic security; and WHEREAS, indispensable to the effectiveness and progre.~ of the life insurance business are career life underwriters--agents, managers and general agents--who daily provide skilled, empathetic, personal service with vast social and economic connotations; and Wi~EREAS, these life underwriters-motivated by personal commitment to participating citizenship and given leadership by the life underwriter association movement- I I Wnl~S, the Salina Association of Life Underwriters is now engaged in a -lPmgram to inform the public ofthe many and broad aspe~ oflife inmrance-w~ it is aM how lit works and its e~entiality to the stability of families and country: NOW THEREFORE I, JOE WARNER, MAYOR OF SALINA, KANSAS, do hereby proclaim the week of February 13 through 17, as LXFE UNDER~' WF, EK in Salina, and in so doing I urge all of my fellow citizem to avail themsdves of this opportunity to learn more about life insurance as a nmtium for individual thrift and self-reliam, e and to maognize the manifold ~ ofnmnbe~ of the Salina Asam:iafion of Life Underwriters.
