RE: Salina Municipal Pool Remodeling
Kenwood Park
Dear Fred:
Your letter of November 13th accurately lists the items we discussed
10 your office on Wednesday, November 12th. I would remind you of three
items we discussed by phone subsequent to that meeting.
1. The relocation of valves presently located in the sodded
area just north of the bathhouse and east of the present
concession building. The park department will expose
these lines in an effort to determine the most suitable
relocation. I have asked Bob Ash to keep in touch with
you on this matter.
2. The City will remove the existing underwater light fixtures
from the pool wall and these openings will be left as is.
3. I asked that the double doors and jambs on the north
entrance to the filter house be replaced.
The time schedule on this project is satisfactory with the City. I
need a set of the plans and specifications for review by our engineering
department as soon as possible. They will then be available for us to take
to the City Commission meeting on November 24th, at which time we will be
authorized to advertise for bids.
There will be a pre-bid conference at 10:00 am Monday, December 1st,
in Room 200 of the City-County Building. The deadline for receipt of bids
will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 4th, at which time the bids will be
opened and reviewed in Room 200 of the City-County Building. It will be
necessary for you or someone from your office to be present at the pre-bid
conference and the bid opening. Of course, we will need an engineer's
estimate on the project from you prior to the bid opening date.
It would be well for you to plan to attend the City Commission meeting
at 4:00 pm on November 24th in the event that any of the City Commissioners
have any questions on this project.

wall clearance)
This is also floor mounted.
3. There are two softdrink machines, both counter mounted.
Machine "A" ... 16~" wide x 28" high x 14 3/4" deep
Machine "B" (Postmix Pepsi Machine) ...
16" wide x 29" high x 26" deep
This machine needs cabinet space below for storage of
postmix canisters. This space must be at least 3' high.
I have attached the information we have available on the Perey turn-
stiles. You will have to contact the company for more specific details.
Also attached is a catalog showing the 1 meter diving tower on page 7 and
the lifeguard chairs on page 11 (OSHA). The diving boards should be specified
as "Duraflex 16' boards". All of this equipment should be specified as shown
or equivalent.
Ferrules for the deck umbrellas should be those suitable for use with
Miracle Ring-a-Round Table and Umbrella, Model 1101.
I would suggest that you plan to attend the Recreation Commission meet-
ing at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 18th, in Room 200 of the City-County Building.
