Request for item to be on agenda
Dear Sir:
The City of Salina and Katharine G. Eberhardt and Martha E. Putnam are
owners of the party wall of Lot 125 on Fifth Street, Original Town of
Salina, Kansas. We are prepared to offer the City $100.00 for the
six (6) inches which they own as one-half of the party wall. This
would relieve the City of any maintenance or liability.
We have a contract to sell the building and it will be renovated,
improved, and consequently derive more taxes to the City. The City
has a Lease Agreement with Royal Tire for the space for a sign. This
sign, which is on the City side of the party wall, must be removed
for the buyer to proceed with his renovation plans.
Yours truly,

RE: North Wall of
135 S. Fifth
Dear Mr. Putnam:
As a result of your inquiry about the common wall of the
above referenced property, the City Attorney advises the City
Commission can sell the City's half of the wall. The procedure
which the City Attorney would advise the City Commission to
follow would be to publicly advertise the sale of the City's
interest in the wall by the sealed bid process.
The present contract for the sign mounted on the wall ex-
pires November 22. Mr. Bob Pickrell presently has it leased
and has an option to renew the lease on a year to year basis.
Our recommendation would be for you to submit a written
application to the City Clerk, City-County Building, Room 206,
asking the City Commission to consider the sale of the City's
interest in the wall at the regular City Commission meeting on
Monday, November 17, 1980. The request for the item to be on
the agenda should be filed with the City Clerk prior to Noon
on Thursday, November 13.
Should you have any further questions on this matter,
please do not hesitate to give us a call.
Sincerely yours,
Rufus L. Nye '"

Dear Mr. Harris:
The City of Salina and Katharine G. Eberhardt and Martha E. Putnam are
owners of the party wall of Lot 125 on Fifth Street, Original Town of
Salina, Kansas. We are requesting that the City give to us the 6" which
they own as one-half of the party wall. This would relieve the City of
any maintenance or liability.
We have a contract to sell the building and it will be renovated, improved,
and consequently derive more taxes to the City. The City has a Lease
Agreement with Royal Tire for the space for a sign. This sign, which i$ on
the City side of the party wall, must be removed for the buyer to proceed
with his renovation plans. This is the reason for this request.
Thank you for your help, and we hope you have your reply as soon as possible.,
Yours truly,
Dwight K. Putnam
