Proclamation
By the Mayor
to the people of Salina
WHEREAS, the Salina Council No. 601 of the Knights of Columbus has exemplified
strong Christian leadership and spirit in providing assistance to a variety of
worthy activities, particularly for the youth of our city; and
WHEREAS, the Knights of Columbus plan to sponsor a "Tootsie Roll Day" for the
benefit of retarded children in Salina; and
WHEREAS, proceeds from the day's sale will go to the work of the Saline County
Retarded Association; and
WHEREAS, the project will benefit a worthy segment of the citizens of Salina;
THEREFORE, I, DAN GEIS, MAYOR OF SALINA,
do hereby proclaim
Saturday, October 11, 1980 as "Tootsie Roll Day" in Salina and urge all of our
citizens to support this worthy project.
