Proclamation
By the Mayor
to the people of Salina
WHEREAS, the Marymount College Spartan basketball team has provided
outstanding athletic competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics; and
WHEREAS, the Marymount basketball team has been given full approval to
play all of its 1980-81 games in the Salina Bicentennial Center arena; and
WHEREAS, the Marymount basketball team is dedicated to providing exciting
athletic competition for the people of Salina and the area;
NOW, THEREFORE, T, DAN GETS, MAYOR OF SALINA,
do hereby proclaim Wednesday, October 8, 1980, as the 2nd annual Blue
Blitz Day, signifying the Spartan "invasion" of the Salina community for the
purpose of selling season tickets to the 1980-81 season games, and
encouraging all of our citizens to support this worthy project by purchasing
season tickets in order that we can fill up the Bicentennial arena--full,
