Award of contract for the 2006 Water Main Enhancements, Project No. 06-1585.
BACKGROUND:
The 2006 Water Main Enhancements Project includes several water system upgrades at the following
locations:
1. Queens Road & -From Claremont Drive to Claremont Drive
Claremont Drive -From Queens Road to Ruskin Road
2. Seitz Drive -From Melrose Lane to Eastborough Road
3. Beloit Drive -From Funston Avenue to Highland Circle
This project includes water system upgrades to improve flow and fire protection at several locations
throughout the city. Several of these pipelines have a significant maintenance history and have
reached the end of their useful life.
Bids were received for this project on September 26, 2006 as follows:

FISCAL NOTE:
A budget allocation of $633,000 for Water Main R eplacements was included in the 2006 Capital
Improvement Program under the category of Water/Wastewater Enhancements. The bids were very
favorable and it will be possible to complete additional water main replacements or water system
enhancements this year.
RECOMMENDATION:
Is it recommended that the City Commission award the contract for the 2006 Water Main
Enhancements, Project No. 06-1585, to Pavers, Inc. in the amount of $244,290.00.
