1) PRINCIPLES:
(a) 2nd LIFE Masonry Restora.tion' and Wa.t~rproofing, th~ Contractor bidding
on this work has visit~d th~ sit~. and familiarized ourself with all 'condi-'
t ions before submitting this bid. No allowance will be made for omissions
a nd errors d~ to failure in acquainting ourselves withex:f.s~ing consitions
a ffecting the contract. .
(b) 2nd LIFE must ~omply with all conditions of the Form of Bid, Any"
o mission will considered grounds for r~jection of the bid.
(c) In submitting a bid, 2nd LIFE agrees to carry out all the provisions
o f the drawings and specifications.
(d) The Owner reserves the ri.ght to waive all formalities and reject any
or all bids.
(e) The Owner reserves the right to let other contracts in connection with
t he work and 2nd LIFE shall properly coop~rate with any ,such oth~r contractors.

BODILY INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE INSURANCE:

(a) Bodily Injury Liability Insurance and Property Damage Insurac.c~ shall. b~
obtained and maintained by 2nd LIFE ~onry Restoration and Waterproofing for
the duration bf this contract. This insurance BhaJ.l protect the Contracto~
a nd sub-contractors f~om claims for damages for personal injury, including
a ccidental death, and from claims for property damages which may arise from
operations under this contract, wheth~r such operations be by himself or my
sub-contractor or anyone directly or indirectly employed by either of them ..
The amounts of such insuranc~ shall not be les8 than:
(1) Bodily Injury Liability Insurance, in an amount not
less than One Hundred Thousand DoJ.lars ($100,090.00) for
injuries, including wrongful death to anyone person, and
subject to the same limit for each person in an amount
not less than Three Hundred Thousand ($300,000.00) on
account of one accident.
(2) Property Damage Insurance in an amount not less than
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for damages on account
of all accidents.
3) CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY:

(a) 2nd LIFE Masonry Res to ration and Waterproofing shall be wholy respolWi=
ble under this contract for its faithful execution. .
(b) The work'shall be under the supervision of a competent man skilled Ui. cl1
the main department8 of the work. He shall have t~chnica1 knowledge of the
drawings and methods of workmanship. ' He shall be at the project site at all
timea-. when work 1& in progres.s to receive instructions and give directio~ to
the workmen.

(c) We shall be responsible for care and protection of the work~ for
improvements covered by the contract~ and for all materials and apparatus
on the project premises until the work i8 completed and accepted by the
Owner.
(d) We shall adequately protect: adjacent property as provide~ by law~
the drawings and specifications.
(e) 2nd LIFE Masonry Restoration and Waterproofing shall not be respon- .,
· ible for damages due to, aided by J or in any way caused by present
condition of the building. We shall exercise rational and prudent care at
all times.
4) SAFETY:
(a) Precaution shall be exercised at all times for the protection of
persons (including employees) and property. The safety provisi~n8 of
applicable-laws, building and construction codes shall be observed.

of the Manual of Accident Prevention in Construction~ published by the

S) WOlUOlEN'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE:.
(a) Workmen's Compensation Insurance shall be obtained and maintained
by 2nd LIFE Masonry Restoration and Waterproofing for all his employees,
at the project site for the duration of this contract.
6) CLEANmG- UP :
<a) The various contractors or sub-contractors for all parts of. the
work. shall clean up and remove all trash which baa accumulated from
and during the execution of their part of the work and leave the pre-
m 18es ready for the next workman~ or for acceptance. Coating over spray
on. glass must be clemed off with in:1ueral spirits within one week from
d ate of application. ..

1) SCOPE OF WORK:
(a) Furnish all material and labor required to complete contract aa
specified.
2) VISIT THE SITE:
(a) 2nd LIFE Masonry Restoration and Waterproofing has visited the site
prior to bidcU.ng and understands. the full extent of the work to be done and "
the conditions under which it will be execut~d, as stated in Section 6,
Work To Be Done.
3) PROTECTION: '
(a) 2nd LIFE Masonry Restoration and Waterproofing shall protect all
existing work, utilities, walks, shrubs, etc., li-able to damage and such
protection shall be of suitable material and forms.
(b) Provide barricade and lights at night for the protection of pedes-
t rians during repairs.
4) BIDDING:
{A~ All work as specified herein ahall ~e unde-r on~ contractor.
5 ) MATERIAL:
(a) Tuckpointing and slurry compounds - ~s s~ecif:led.
(b) Waterproofing shall be equal to Hydrazite brick waterproofing as
manufactured by Hydrozo Costings Company, 855 West Street, Lincoln,
Nebraska 6850~.
(c) Door and window caulking to meet federal specifications 'IT-C-598.
(d) Structuru crack and cap stone joint caulking shall be eCiual to Thiokol
(polysulf1de) meeting American Standard Speeification A-1l6-l-1960 color to
match.
(e) 'rhoroCoat, ThoroSeal, and 'lhoroGlaze shall be applied as per 1!la!1ufac-

WORK TO BE DONE: The purpose of this project is to restore the Me~s
wall to its original red brick and uniform joint apperance. This wall
has resisted all attempts at chemical cleaning and thus a high pressure
cleaning method will have to be used to remove the existing coating.

Clean walls
Remove excess mortar where needed. remove cement based coat by what ever
method is least damaging to brick, High pressure water or sandblasting
Uniform joints
If the cleaning technique used removes mortar from the joints then
the joints shall be refilled or the brick surfaces shall be taped
a~d then the joints shall be grouted with 'Dry-joint' to give a uniform
joint-- apperance
Caulking
The brick to metal wi~dow joi~ts shall be re caulked with polysulfide
caulking color grey.
Waterproofing
Upon completion of the above outlined work all exterior masonry surfaces
on the wall shall be flood coated with a clear water repellant coating,
Weather seal 201 or equal Coverage rate 100sq ft per gallon
