This request would allow the filing of plans and specifications for Project
No. 80-667 on July 28, 1980 for the replacement of a number of trees and shrubs
at the Bicentennial Center. These trees and shrubs were guaranteed to survive
by the Bicentennial Center contractor. Therefore, a sum of money was withheld
from his final payment to fund this replacement project. In this project, we
have removed the guarantee section from the specifications and required that
all trees and shrubs be balled and burl aped or container grown. We feel this
will give us better bid prices. The planting period will remain the same,
being October 1, 1980 to May 1, 1981.
We suggest a letting date be scheduled for this project on August 14, 1980.
