BY: BY: Resolution #80-3490 Page Three In 1979, the City received $12,598 ~rom the ~ale of dog l~censes an~ Animal Shelter impounding fees. However, In 1979, l~ ~ost the Clty approxlmately $69,746 to operate the Animal Shelter and admlnlster the dog control program. Consequently, the taxpayer subsidized the City animal program to the tune of $57,148. In 1981, the operation of the Animal Shelter and the administration of the animal control program is expected to cost approximately $56,368. In 1981, the projected receipts from the new fee schedule will be approximately $37,667. The $37,667 figure, however, excludes receipts from cat license fees and, as such, is a low figure. It is difficul~ if not impossible, to predict receipts from cat registration and impoundment fees. There lS no data base for cats and no historical experience by which to make a revenue projection. A comparison of program receipts and expenditures for 1979 and 1981 can now be made.
