Commission Intention on Alabama Street in the Proposed Wheat-
ridge Addition.
The Wheatridge Addition plat, on the north side of Schilling
Road, has not been accepted by the Commission as a final plat.
At the request of MK Development, the plat has been delayed.
However, there is on the proposed plat one public street - Alabama
Street - running due north from Schilling Road for a distance of
approximately one-fourth mile. The Engineering staff has deter-
mined, based on the Black & Veatch criteria, that this street should
be removed and replaced.
I recommend that the Commission instruct the City Manager to inform
MK Development that if and when the Wheatridge Addition plat is
finally approved that a valid petition be signed prior to the ap-
proval of the plat, for removal of the existing surfacing on Alabama
Street and its replacement with 8-inch full depth asphalt be sub-
mitted. I have discussed this with HK Development. I think it is
essential to do this in order to avoid the continuation of this
controversy.
