WHEREAS
Community Health Centers are loca l, non-profit, community driven
clinics which serve the low income and medically underserved people in
the community; and
WHEREAS
Community Health Centers are locate d in areas where there is need to
improve access to care; and
WHEREAS
Community Health Centers provi de comprehensiv e health care
including acute, chronic and preventa tive care, and dental and mental
health services; and
WHEREAS
Community Health Centers are responsive to the needs of the
Community, with 51% of the Govern ing Board being Health Center
patients; and
WHEREAS
Salina, Kansas is the location of Salina Health Education Foundation,
doing business as SALINA Family HealthCARE Center, a Federally
Qualified Community Health Center; SO NOW THEREFORE
I, Donnie D. Marrs, Mayor of the C ity of Salina, Kansas do hereby
proclaim August 6 – 12, 2006 as
NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK
in the City of Salina, Kansas.
