AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SERVICES
This Agreement is entered into this~dday of September,
1992, by and between the CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS (the "City") and
TIM HOBSON d/b/a ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICE ("Hobson").
Recitals
A. The City desires to contract for professional training
services in the area of wastewater treatment.
B. Hobson desires to provide professional training services
in the area of wastewater treatment, pursuant to the terms of this
Agreement for Professional Training Services.
THE PARTIES therefore agree as follows:
1. Services to be Drovided bv Hobson. Hobson shall
personally provide the following professional training services
(the "Services"):
Presentation of a training course (30-60 classroom hours
plus in-plant, hands-on instruction) designed to
introduce new operators to basic wastewater treatment
concepts. This should also provide operators with the
information necessary to pass a Class I or II State of
Kansas wastewater operator certification exam.
Presentation of a training course (30-60 classroom hours
plus in-plant, hands-on instruction) to prepare
experienced operating and maintenance personnel for
advancement in certification level.
Specialized training targeted for the treatment processes
in Salina's treatment facility.
Individualized tutoring in all areas as needed.
Organize and conduct training field trips to other
activated sludge facilities if desired.
Operation and maintenance work as needed.
Review of draft facility 0 & M manual
recommendations for revisions as needed.

In cooperation with the City and Wilson & Company
personnel:
Set up comprehensive operation and preventive
maintenance task list and schedule.
Help personnel integrate computer use into plant
management.
Assess information needs for control of present and
new treatment processes.
Set up sampling, testing and data interpretation
program for process evaluation.
Troubleshoot new process start-up problems.
Help with industrial monitoring program.
Set up and/or run lab tests.
Any other reasonable and appropriate tasks.
2. Schedulinq of Services. The Services will be provided
for 112 working days during the period starting July 1, 1993, and
ending December 23, 1993. The Services will be provided on the day
shift at least 90% of the total time. Occasional scheduling of
Services on weekends is acceptable to Hobson.
3. Compensation. Hobson shall be compensated by the City
for the Services in the total amount of $13,500, to be paid in six
(6) equal paYments of $2,250. The six (6) paYments shall be paid
by the City on the 25th day of each month starting July 25, 1993.
4. city's responsibilities. The City shall provide funding
for a training supply budget not to exceed $500. The City shall
provide overhead and slide projectors for use in training
presentations and will provide transportation for any necessary
field trips.
5. Personal nature of Services. The City's participation in
this Agreement is contingent upon Hobson's personal performance of
the Services, and is therefore not assignable by Hobson. Further,
if Hobson is unable to complete the Services, this Agreement shall
be terminated and Hobson shall be compensated on a pro rata basis
for that portion of the last month in which he provided the
Services.

7. Bindinq effect. This Agreement shall be binding upon the
parties and Hobson's heirs, executor, administrator, and trustee.
