National Navy Mothers' Week
PROCLAMATION
GREETIN GS mALL:
WHEREAS: The Navy Mothers f Clubs of America are composed of mothers
whose sons and daughters served honorably in the United
States Navy, United States Marine Corps and the United States
Coast Guard; and
WHEREAS: many of their sons and daughters died in the defense of their
Country during the ylorld :'1ars and the Korean Conflict and
Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS: the purpose of this organization is charitable and educational;
and
WHEREAS: they promote a friendly and sympathetic and social relation-
ship among the parents of Navy men and women; and
WH&~EAS: they collect and disseminate information relating to the
manner of living and environment of its personnel; and
WHEREAS: they cultivate a respectful and cordial attitude of civil-
ization toward men in the Naval Service; and
'. WHEREAS: they work untiringly and unselfishly in the Naval and
Veterans hospitals throughout the Country; and'
WHEREAS: they provide the Servicemen's Center in Philadelphia, Pennsyl-
vania.
NOW, therefore, I, Karen M. Graves , Mayor of the City of Salina do
hereby proclaim August .lst through August 7th, 197', to be NAVY rIDTHERS'
WEEK in Salina, Kansas, and ask all Citizens to pay respect and honor
to those Mothers who have sacrificed so much.
