I , I I MOTION BY I I TO: i COMMISSION ACTION SECOND BY I I I I I I .; , .. / ORDINANCE NUMBER 8750 (Published in The Salina Journal , 1979) AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE 1979 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS: ENACTING ARTICLE XVII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE SALINA CODE. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Chapter 9 of the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding the following Article to be numbered Article XVII, which said article shall read as follows: ARTICLE XVII "Section 9-460. Uniform Code for the Abatement of Danqerous Buildinqs adopted. There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the City for the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and publiC welfare by regulating and controlling the abatement of dangerous buildings within the city, that certain building code known as the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, recommended and published by the International Conference of Building Officials, being particularly the 1979 Edition thereof, including the appendices thereto, of which not fewer than three (3) copies have been, and now are filed in the Office of the City Clerk and the same are hereby incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein and the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the abatement of dangerous buildings within the corporate limits of the City. "Sections 9-461 to 9-469. Reserved. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
