Petition No. 3772 - filed by Mr. Main at 320 North Santa Fe Avenue for a loading
zone directly in front of the door.
This request seems to meet the requirements of the City Code, Section 22-151
and 22-152.
Section 22-151. Designation of loading, unloading zones.
The board of commissioners may from time to time, by resolution,
designate loading and unloading zones.
Section 22-152. Marking, use of loading, unloading zones.
The city manager is authorized and directed to designate the exact
location of loading and unloading zones, and is further directed
to clearly mark said zones as being limited to parking for the
sole purpose of loading and unloading merchandise into and from
delivery trucks and other vehicles being used for commercial
delivery purposes. To avoid congestion and danger to the public,
no truck shall be parked in loading or unloading zones contrary
to the provisions of section 22-149 or any other ordinance of said
city. No vehicle shall be parked within such zones so designated
for more than fifteen (15) minutes continuously, and each successive
continuous fifteen (15) minute period is hereby declared to be a
separate offense. The above described use of the said loading and
unloading zones shall be in effect only between the hours of 7:00
a.m. and 12:00 noon on every day of the week except Sundays and
legal holidays. From 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. on every day except
Sundays and legal holidays, the above described areas are hereby
designated by the city manager as set forth in Article VI of this
chapter. For the purpose of this section, one loading and unloading
space on any street where angle parking is required shall be eleven
(11) feet of curb space and one loading and unloading space on any
street where parallel parking is required shall be twenty-two (22)
feet of curb space. (Code 1960, ~ 27-1427)
It is recommended that this loading zone request be approved, however, it is
suggested the exact location be located at the metered space in front of this building

RESOLUTION NUMBER 3445
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A LOADING AND UNLOADING ZONE IN THE 300 BLOCK
OF NORTH SANTA FE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That in accordance with the provisions of Section 22-151
of the Salina Code a loading and unloading zone is hereby established in the
300 block of North Santa Fe at meter post #277, the same being approximately
320 North Santa Fe.
Section 2. That this designation of a loading and unloading zone shall
be effective upon the installation of appropriate signs designating this area as
a loading and unloading zone.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
27th day of August, 1979.
